According to Uzbekistan Railroad Department of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari, the high speed train will be running on a daily basis. To be noted, the new high speed train Afrosiyob produced by Spanish Talgo started to carry out regular trips en route Tashkent-Samarkand-Tashkent from 8 October 2011.
Totally, it transported over 4,000 passengers for the last quarter of 2011.
The big volume of passenger traffic is based on the popularity of this direction, as well as train’s amenities. In this context, the transporter made decision to increase the number of trips up to five times a week and then up to seven times a week.
According to the schedule, the departure time from Tashkent is 8 am, the train arrives in Samarkand in 2.5 hours – at 10.30. The departure time from Samarkand is 5 pm, it arrives in Tashkent at 7.40 pm.
