Uzbekistan to celebrate Kurban Hayit on 4 OctoberIn 2014 the first day of Kurban Hayit falls on 4 October. On 26 September the President of Republic of Uzbekistan signed a decree on ‘Celebrating Kurban Hayit’ according to which the upcoming Saturday is announced a day off and a holiday.

Kurban Hayit or Eid al-Adha is a religious holiday in a Muslim world, sacrifice fest that is a part of pilgrimage to Mecca. This holiday is celebrated by all Muslims around the world on 10th day of the 12th month according to Muslim Lunar Calendar Zul-Khidja and lasts 3-4 days.
