Tajikistan - Traditions
Tajiks piously revere their national traditions, preserve them and pass from generation to generation practically within their original context. They say that traditions thread throughout their entire lives. They are everywhere: in behavior, in clothes, in food, in entertainments etc. Until now Tajiks (especially in villages) wear their national clothes. Men prefer embroidered dressing gowns and skull caps, women - colored embroidered dresses with trousers and kerchiefs on their heads. Most girls still braid 40 pigtails.
Tajik customs and rituals have been observed since time immemorial and are woven in the lives of the country's population. A special place is occupied by wedding rituals in which the main role belongs to the magic of fertility and charms, the cult of ancestors.
