Tashkent region to allocate $77 million for tourism development

Kanka, TashkentIn 2013-2015 the government will spend about $77 million to improve the tourism infrastructure and restore the monuments in Tashkent region.

In particular, about 15 objects of cultural heritage, including: the ancient settlement of Kanka, Kul-Bulak complex, ruins of the ancient Kirk Kiz fortress will be restored.

The infrastructure of the “Yangiabad” tourist camp and “Sumcha” recreation zone will be improved. The hotel complexes will be modernized, while the adjacent areas will be developed. It is also planned to extend the Yangiabad piste to 2,500 m and install modern surface lift.

For the convenience of tourists, there will be extra buses and rail runs arranged from Tashkent on weekends. Also as part of the program it is planned to increase the number of ATMs and terminals in the tourist spots, and arrange new WI-FI zones, etc.
