Shakhrisabz, located near Samarkand, will be built up and renovated - reports UzDaily.uz. news site. The corresponding program was adopted by the Uzbek government on February 20, 2014.
The integrated program for Shakhrisabz development and reconstruction will be implemented in 2014-2018. The program also provides for development of city’s transport and engineering infrastructure, architectural and planning look, restoration and improvement of sites of historical and cultural heritage and construction of modern hotels. In particular, Ak-Saray complexes (XIV century), Dor-us Soadat (XV-XIX centuries), Chubin Madrasah (XIV c.), Chor-Su (XIV century) will be reconstructed. Furthermore three-star and four-star hotels, with 40 rooms each, will also be built.
The reconstruction program for Shahrisabz aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the historical part of the city, promote its historical, architectural, social, cultural and tourism potential.
