Restored the fortress of Ulli Khovli in KhorezmIn Urgench, district of Khorezm region, the restoration works of pise-walled fortress Ulli Khovli are finished, reports UzA Information Agency. Besides, the fortress was extended with hand-made articles of craftsmen and various exhibits to re-create peculiarities of Ancient Khorezm inhabitants.

The history of Ulli Khovli (“Big Yard”) is more than 300 years old. The fortress with an 8-m pise-walls 1,5 m in width were used as an outpost and location of the fort.

Today Ulli Khovli is becoming a tourist center due to the efforts of restorer and historians. Travelers number who wish to find themselves in a real setting of the 17th century is increasing rapidly. The fortress possesses a farm to breed camels, horses and poultry. Guests of the Ulli Khovli can ride a horse, watch the process of manufacturing flour with mill or try various national dishes. The tourist center holds national games, Kurash (wrestling) competitions and performances.
