The 5th Woman of the Year National Contest

About the Contest:
"Yil Ayoli" (Woman of the Year) national contest, annually held by the "Women`s Council" Public Association, for the fifth time the contest is aimed at encouragement of women, who devote themselves to their families and at the same time making accomplishments in professional life and creativity by their efforts, knowledge and skills.
For the first time the contest was held in 2007, and received about 6000 applications from across the country. The second stage of the "Woman of the Year 2007" contest was held in major cities of each region.
At the first round participants presented their works and skills in the exhibitions of needlework, cooking contests and competitions of flower compositions, and vocal and musical skills. All semi-finalists, about 9-17 participants from each region (170 participants in total) were awarded with home appliances. According to the results of questioning one contestant from each district of the region participated in the regional round: "My main advantage". The results of the contest "My main advantage" helped to assess the merits of contestants, where they demonstrated their professional and other advantages by means of photos and videos, monologues and scenes.
The main condition for the final stage of "Woman of the Year 2007" was the implementation of own community-oriented campaign. Each finalist has thought out and implemented a single campaign for supporting of children’s homes and represented their video reports and other necessary information to evaluate this social contest to the Women’s council public association. The jury of the contest included prominent figures of culture and art of Uzbekistan. Results of the competitions helped the jury to determine the finalist of the project "Woman of the Year 2007". Dildora Niyazova from Samarkand region was recognized as "Woman of the Year 2007". She was awarded with an exclusive statuette and a grand prize: trip to Turkey. All other final participants received gifts from the project organizer and sponsors.
At the end of the Republican round of the contest 14 finalists participated: one from each region of Uzbekistan, including the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Tashkent city. The main condition for the final was a short presentation of the author's mini-project, which in the opinion of finalists, was able to bring new and positive changes in social and public sphere and the final interview with all members of the jury. Mamlakat Ermatova from the Jizzakh region became the winner of "The Woman of the Year 2009" and the owner of an exclusive vase and trip to Malaysia. Saida Mirzarahimova from the Tashkent region was recognized as "Woman of the Year 2010".
