Chimgan River Tour: from Marble River to Gulkam is an amazing introduction to the stone chronicle of the western Tien Shan. Here you can find out that walking along a mountain path, you are actually walking along the former bottom of the sea – after all, there are traces of prehistoric shells on the stones near the Marble River. And you can also see how the water sharpens the stone – the Gulkam gorge with its steep cliffs was formed over millions of years of leaching of solid rock. And at the end of the tour there will be an opportunity to see the stone creativity of primitive people in the vicinity of the town of Khojikent. Day 1: Tashkent – Beldersay – Avenue Park Hotel

9-00 – 10-30: Transfer from Tashkent to the Beldersay tract to the starting point of the active part of the tour. The transfer ends on the bank of the Marble River, the main tributary of the Beldersay river (1550 m.). 10-30 – 12-00: Passing from the road to the lunch place along the bed of the Marble River. (1750 m.) The river got its name – Marble (Mramornaya) – because of the numerous outcrops of calcareous deposits forming the riverbed. In some places there are inclusions of fossilized shells and traces of ancient vegetation on the rocks - evidence that this place was once the bottom of an ancient sea. The trail winds along the bed of the Marble River alternately passing from one bank to the other. After 1.5 hours of walking, we will reach a small grove, where we will stop for lunch and rest. On the way we will see 2 waterfalls and small baths washed in basalt rock. The climb is 200m. 12-00 – 13-00: Lunch. 13-00 – 14-30: Descent to the road through the "Sunny Glade". The descent passes along a mountain path through juniper and mixed forest and ends at the lower station of the cable car (1550 m.). 14-30 – 15-15: Transfer to the Avenue Park Hotel. Check in. Free time.

Day 2: Avenue Park – Gulkam Gorge – Khojikent – Tashkent

9-00 – 9-30: Transfer from the hotel to the confluence of the Mazarsai and Gulkamsai rivers (1200 m.). 9-30 – 12-30: Walk to Gulkam gorge. Here you can enjoy the magnificent views of the Gulkam gorge, their sheer cliffs, as well as "baths" on the cascade of waterfalls. Along the way there will be numerous crossings across the river, where you will have to wet your feet, so it is advisable to have a change of shoes (+200 m, -200 m). 12-30 – 13-15: Transfer to Khodjikent, to the Chinaras restaurant through the Charvak reservoir. Dinner. Inspection of petroglyphs. Return to Tashkent. End of Chimgan River Tour: from Marble River to Gulkam.

Dress code:
In hot sunny weather: a panama hat, long-sleeved outerwear, trousers (shorts are not suitable due to passing through thorny shrub thickets), trekking boots or sneakers. In cold weather: a jacket or windbreaker.
