Kashkadarya intends to develop tourism

Shakhrisabz, Kashkadarya regionKashkadarya is one of the three Uzbekistan regions, where the government intends to actively develop tourism the next two years.

Kashkadarya is recognized as a country’s promising region to develop eco-tourism and downhill skiing. The places of interest in the region are the Achinkul basin with a unique flora and fauna, a latitudinal station and Kitab observatory, as well as two Uzbek largest reserves, located in Kashkadarya: Gissar National Park and Kitab Geological Reserve.

By the beginning of 2016, according to the program a new ski resort with hotels, cable cars and pistes, designed for experienced skiers will be built in Mingchinor village, Kitab district.

The next two years the region plans to build 30 new hotels and renovate the existing ones, reconstruct “Kitab” railway station. The expansion program for the region also provides for purchasing 20 tourist coaches, opening a business lounge in Karshi Airport and construction of additional terminals and ATMs in the hotels, restaurants, large shops and other tourist infrastructure facilities.
