Road to Karakol to be reconstructed It will be easier for tourists to get to a popular ski resort “Karakol”. As reported by tengrinews.kz, the new Prime-Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev who was appointed to the post in the end of April 2015, ordered to repair the 7km highway leading from the main road to the resort. Besides, due to high flow of tourists authorities plan to build up another ski resort near Karakol in the nearest future.

According to the statistics, 128,000 foreign tourists visited Kyrgyzstan in 2014. The first on the list of popular places belongs to Issyk-Kul, followed by Bishkek, regions of NarynOshJalalabad, and Talas. Around 84,000 tourists arrived from countries that have visa-free regime agreement.

Market experts say that the number of tourists to Kyrgyzstan in 2015 will increase. The Kyrgyz hope on the opening of the borders due to the entry of the republic into the Eurasian Economic Union. Visa-free access, construction of new resorts as well as reconstruction of the airport in Tamchy located in the coastal area of Issyk-Kul are some of the measures taken by the Kyrgyz government to stimulate the development of tourism in the country.
