The amazing Four-Day Cultural Uzbekistan Tour: Uz-1 is a unique possibility to plunge into the atmosphere of ancient cities – Bukhara and Samarkand, that managed to preserve architectural monuments of ruling epochs of powerful dynasties of the Middle Ages. The Samarkand tour program includes a visit of world-famous Registan Square – the center of the capital of the old-time powerful empire founded by Tamerlane, Shakhi-Zinda Complex – one of the sanctuaries of the Islamic world with the shrine of Kusam ibn Abbas, a Prophet Muhammad’s cousin brother, Gur-Emir Mausoleum of the Temurid dynasty and other unique monuments. You will also visit Holy Bukhara. Over two thousand years this city, as a mainstay of Islam, has been acquiring its inimitable look. The Samanid Mausoleum, Kalyan Minaret, Ark Citadel and Lyabi-Khauz pond are still cultic structures and symbols of Holy Bukhara up to date.
Tour Summary:
Day 1: Tashkent - Bukhara
Transfer to local airport in Tashkent. Morning flight to Bukhara. Upon arrival you are met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. Leave your luggage at the hotel. Check in at noon.
Take a walking sightseeing tour with a guide in historic center of Bukhara which has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Sightseeing starts at Lyabi Khauz Ensemble and continue to Magoki-Attori mosque, trade domes, Madrasah of Ulugbek and Madrasah of Abdulazizkhan, Kalyan Ensemble, legendary Ark fortress, Bolo-Khauz mosque, Samani dynasty mausoleum. Enjoy free time in Old City.
Day 2: Bukhara - Samarkand (280 km, 4 hrs)
Continue sightseeing tour in Bukhara with a guide. Take a short drive to Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa summer residence of last emir of Bukhara. Head to Mausoleum of Bakhoutdin Naqshbandi.
In the afternoon depart Bukhara and drive to Samarkand. On the way to Samarkand make a stop at Caravanserail Rabat-i-Malik dating back to 11th century. Arrive Samarkand late in the afternoon, check in to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Samarkand
Meet with your guide and driver at hotel lobby and start sightseeing. Visit spectacular Registan Square, remains of Bibi-Khanum Mosque, Ulugbek observatory, Shakhi-Zinda Complex and Gur-Emir Mausoleum, authentic shrine of Tamerlane. Enjoy free time in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Samarkand - Tashkent
Continue sightseeing: head outside of the city to explore Afrosiab museum, once a heart of ancient Samarkand and nowadays a unique archeological site. Then visit the tomb of Saint Daniel and drive to mausoleum of Muslim scholar Imam Al Bukhari – the author of second holy book Hadis after Qoran in Islam (25 km, 30 min). Being a pilgrimage place for Muslims, Al-Bukhari complex is also famous for its modern mosque built in 1998.
At 16.00 transfer to Railway Station and take the fast-speed Afrosiyob train departing to Tashkent at 17.00. Scheduled arrival time is 19.10. Pick-up and transfer to hotel in Tashkent. End of the tour.
