Tourist festival village was opened within the project of Check-in-Georgia in the city of Batumi, the capital of Adzharia and the Black Sea resort destination, reports Sputnik Georgia information agency.
On the territory of the village, in special set houses, people can try or buy Georgian wine, cheese, tea as well as traditional Georgian delicatessen like churchkhela (sausage-shaped candy made by repeatedly dipping a long string of nuts in tatara – a mixture of flour, sugar and concentrated fresh grape juice).
It is also possible to buy crafts, handmade leather items as well as wooden artworks.
The village is open daily from 18.00, and will last until September.
The aim of Check in Georgia is to popularize Georgian holidays and increase its international image. Within the project, it is also planned to hold different music and theatre festivals, exhibitions and concerts.
