On 1 May 2015 cooks of Kazakhstan cooked the biggest lagman in the world. Its weight was 687kg.

Lagman is a traditional Uyghur noodle dish with meat and vegetables. It is well-known in the countries of the Central Asian region.

More than 20 chefs and their numerous assistants took part in cooking mega-lagman. 250kg flour, 120kg meat and about 300kg vegetables were used for the dish. The gigantic lagman was divided into 1500 portions and distributed on the square in front of the Uyghur Theatre in the Southern capital.

The record was registered by a specially invited representative of the Guinness World Records Book, and the information on it will appear on the website of the organization by the end of the week. In 2016 the record will be included to the new publication of the Book.

The event on cooking the biggest lagman in the world was dedicated to the Day of unity of people of Kazakhstan and 5th anniversary of the Kazakh geographic society, reports tengrinews.kz.
