As of 1 June, Tajikistan introduced electronic visas. Now tourists can receive electronic visas without visiting consular departments, reports the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.
The service is for tourist visa applicants and foreign citizens planning a business trip via internet portal e-Visa. It will cost 50 USD and can be paid with Visa and Master Card. The application will be reviewed during 48 hours. In addition, a special permission to visit Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) can be obtained in the portal for additional cost. In case of visa refusal, money is not returned.
After the payment of the visa fee and approval of visa application, reply is sent to an electronic mail. The document is not extended and valid for 90 days with maximum of 45 calendar days of staying in the country.
