Safe to Travel according to US Department of State RatingAccording to new travel advisories released by the US Department of State, Georgia and Armenia are Level 1 countries, among the safest for tourists. Azerbaijan is a Level 2 country, meaning that it is still safe to travel there, but tourists should be more careful.

The State Department recently created a new system for evaluating countries based on factors such as the risk of terrorism, crime levels, natural disasters, and health crises. This new system ranks countries on a scale from Level 1 (“Exercise normal precautions”) to Level 4 (“Do not travel”).

Georgia and Armenia are ranked as Level 1 countries, in the same category as Canada, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, and Singapore. Azerbaijan is a Level 2 country, the same as France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
