Barbarestan Restaurant is a real treasure trove of ancient recipes of Georgian cuisine, recreating unique dishes with maximum attention to detail and quality. The background of the restaurant's foundation is impressive: one day its future owners stumbled upon the first Georgian cookbook sold at the famous flea market on the Dry Bridge. This book is called "Georgian Cuisine and Tips for Housekeeping" and it was written by the first feminist of Georgia, Barbare Georgadze, in 1854! The book contained rare recipes of dishes from Georgian and other world cuisines, and the author herself adhered to a creative approach to cooking and advocated openness to new trends and unusual solutions. The idea of the concept of the institution was born immediately! And today, the talented chefs of this amazing restaurant create their culinary works like artists paint a picture.

The design of the dishes and desserts does not at first sight suggest Georgian cuisine, but the recipes include traditional combinations of products, while the method and sequence of their processing allow you to achieve the most harmonious taste. Where else would you try rabbit rolls with melted goat cheese cream or satsivi with eggplant instead of chicken?

Desserts have become a special pride of the Barbarestan restaurant, and there is truly no limit to the imagination of their creators: delicate layers of fruit, chocolate or butter cream are interspersed with crispy waffles or juicy cupcake, and this splendor is decorated with a string of berries or pieces of fresh fruit. A total delight!

The pleasant, almost homely interior of the restaurant allows you to relax and enjoy every bite or sip. By the way, excellent wine is served in Barbarestan, and if you wish, you can go down to the XIX century wine cellar, where bottles of excellent drinks are stored at the ideal temperature.
