From preparation for “EXPO-2017” to “green economy”

Kazakhstan proceeds with active preparation for the EXPO-2017, which fact has boosted the upgrading of the Kazakh economy, - reports bnews.kz. news site. As it was previously reported the main subject of the EXPO-2017 is the usage of alternative energy sources to reduce a risk to the environment. In search of new methods for nature conservation and reduction of risk of environmental threats, on 30 May 2013, Kazakh President signed the decree on approval of the concept of Kazakhstan transition to “green economy”.

Pure (“green”) technologies, offering the investors and buyers a competitive profit simultaneously with solution of environmental problems underlie in the “green economy” concept. The “green economy” concept includes the ideas of many directions of economic sciences, among them are resource-oriented economy, ecological economics, environmental economics.

As a reminder, one of the clauses of state strategy for usage of alternative energy sources “Kazakhstan-2050, developed in the course of preparatory work to the EXPO -2017, provides for construction of Kazakhstan first wind power station. In addition, it is planned to develop Astana into a “green city”, improve the infrastructure and unify the hotel business of the capital Kazakhstan currently proceeds with initial data acquisition, and a tender for the best design-idea of the exhibition complex.

Demonstration of the EXPO-2017 registration dossier to the International Exhibition Bureau will take place in October 2013. Construction of the EXPO-2017 facilities and active work to attract member countries will start in 2014. About 100 countries are expected to participate in the exhibition, while the international pavilions during the EXPO- 2017 operation will be attended by visitors numbering from 2 to 3 million.
