City tour of Baikonur (1 hour).
Baikonur is a closed city in southern Kazakhstan, built in the 1950s to serve the Baikonur Cosmodrome. It is home to engineers, military personnel, and cosmonauts working on space missions. The city has its own infrastructure, including schools, museums, hotels, and monuments dedicated to space exploration. Entry is restricted and requires a special permit, as the territory is leased by Russia until 2050.
Transfer to the Cosmodrome.
  • Visit to “Gagarin’s Start” and the Command Post. “Gagarin’s Start” (Launch Pad No. 1) is the site of Yuri Gagarin’s historic first human spaceflight on April 12, 1961. Today, the launch pad is retired and serves as a monument to the beginning of human space exploration.
  • Command Post – the key launch control center where specialists monitored the rocket systems, tracked flight parameters, and made critical decisions during the launch.

Lunch-boxes included.

  • Visit to the Buran Assembly and Fueling Building. This facility was used for assembling, fueling, and preparing the Buran space shuttle for launch. Engineers performed system checks, propellant loading, and integration with the Energia launch vehicle here.
  • Visit to the Energia Dynamic Test Stand (SDI). The Dynamic Test Stand was used to test the structural strength and stability of the Energia rocket. Engineers examined how the rocket responded to vibration, pressure, and conditions simulating a real launch.
Transfer to the official viewing area.
The observation site is designed for safe rocket launch viewing. It is located approx. 4 km from the launch pad – the maximum safe distance confirmed by engineers. The area features a pavilion built in the style of a traditional Kazakh yurt.
