Alice Pontini

Alice PontiniAlice, hailing from the small village of Valdobbiadene in Italy, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and located on the wine hills at the foothills of the Dolomites, has been a tour leader since 2016 and an overland traveler since birth. She fell in love with the ancient Silk Road countries and has never left them! The beauty and art of every aspect of life, the attention to detail, the pride of the local people, and their incredible hospitality, genuine welcoming manners, dreamy sceneries and variety of landscapes, the magic of centuries-old legends, and the rich, fascinating history keep her connected to Uzbekistan like no other place.

Alice lets curiosity lead her tours, and she is driven by art in every possible way, from a plate of Plov to a miniature painting. She leads her tours as she would travel on her own, going deeper into people’s stories and knowledge, digging under the surface, creating connections, and answering questions. She learns, observes, and exchanges, bringing up the pride and dignity of every place she sees, art and craft she encounters, and the person she talks to. She loves bazaars, hikes, local workshops, textiles, and traditions, and she enjoys sharing her passion with her guests.
