St. Nicholas Church in Bolvanovka

St. Nicholas Church in Bolvanovka, Moscow

In 1632, a wooden Church of St. Nicholas was built in Bolvanovka. In 1702-1712 it was replaced by the stone temple. St. Nicholas Church in Bolvanovka was built in the traditional style: the pyramid of kokoshniks, the five domes, and the bell tower with a hipped-roof from the western part of the temple. Inside there are two churches, the lower and upper. At the turn of the 19thcentury the temple was renovated. The white stone window frames were trimmed, the patterned kokoshniks were restored, the domes were gilded anew.
