Russia to Introduce Electronic Visa for Short-Term StayBeginning January 1, 2021, an electronic single-entry visa will be introduced for the short-term stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation for tourist, business, guest and humanitarian purposes, reports Interfax.

An e-visa will be issued as a single-entry visa for up to 60 calendar days, and e-visa holders will be permitted to stay in Russia for up to 16 days during the 60-day period.

The list of foreign countries whose citizens will be permitted to enter the Russian Federation for guest, business or tourism purposes, or to participate in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic and sporting events, will be issued by the government of the Russian Federation.

An e-visa application may be submitted online. The processing time will be no more than 4 calendar days from the date of application.

Entry into and exit from the Russian Federation by foreign citizens in possession of an electronic visa must be carried out at designated border checkpoints.
