The travel experts at Lonely Planet have chosen the Central Asian part of the Silk Road as the best destination for tourists in 2020.
The legendary travel route is attracting increasing numbers of tourists thanks to its stunning mosques and madrassahs, vibrant bazaars, stunning scenery, and generous Central Asian hospitality.
And exploring the Silk Road is now easier than ever. Most visitors to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan now either don’t need visas for short visits or can get electronic visas. Large investments are also being made to improve transport and other tourism-related infrastructure.
