The History of Kuğulu Park

The area in the Kavaklıdere neighbourhood, which now contains Kuğulu Park, was once a natural landscape of poplar trees and a small water stream. As Ankara expanded throughout the twentieth century, city planners realised the need for accessible green spaces in the rapidly growing capital.

In 1958, the site was officially transformed into a public park. It comprises tree-lined paths, decorative gardens, and a central pond that would later become its defining feature.
