From January 15, 2019, German citizens visiting Uzbekistan for tourism will be able to enter the country without a visa and stay for up to 30 days.
The number of German tourists visiting Uzbekistan has been increasing year-on-year: 4,800 in 2016; 7,200 in 2017; and more than 18,000 in 2018, according to Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Tourism. An even greater increase in the number of tourists from Germany is expected following the introduction of the visa-free regime.
The introduction of a visa-free regime for German tourists will further strengthen relations between Germany and Uzbekistan. The two countries have been fruitfully cooperating in the cultural, scientific, and educational fields for over 20 years. In January 2019, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, plans to visit Germany.
