The online travel service Wegoplaces.me has recently released the Solo Travel Safety Report 2019, which ranks countries on how safe they are for people travelling alone.
Singapore tops the ranking, with Uzbekistan in fifth place. The top 10 safest countries also includes Norway, Iceland, Finland, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Canada, Indonesia and Denmark.
The 10 riskiest countries for solo travellers are Venezuela, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Gabon, Liberia, South Africa, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Botswana and Sierra Leone.
The ranking was based on a Gallup survey of the residents of 142 countries, and other sources.
