Welcome the New Year in traditional style in Russia’s capital, Moscow! Immerse yourself in the vibrant festive atmosphere, joining Muscovites in their celebrations at the city’s main venues in this New Year's Eve in Moscow Tour. Enjoy an unforgettable New Year’s Eve driving along the city streets past the beautiful historical buildings, admiring the elegant Christmas trees and breath-taking light installations, and joining in the local tradition of open-air New Year fairs. The tour includes a visit to the most popular New Year fair in Moscow and wider Russia – the GUM Fair, which is held every year on the legendary Red Square. At the fair, you can try traditional Russian dishes like pancakes with caviar, pies, and baked potatoes, and traditional drinks like mead and sbiten. Your loved ones will surely appreciate gifts of traditional Russian souvenirs such as felt boots, nesting dolls, and Pavlovo Posad shawls. You’ll also get the chance to see impressive ice sculptures created by artists and sculptors from different parts of Russia as part of the 2-week Festival of Winter Sculptures (weather dependent). The theme of the festival changes every year and is kept secret until the opening – prepare to be amazed! Highlights of the last festival included a 12-metre-high Kremlin and 8.5-metre-high Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, both made only from ice. The tour ends with a celebration of the arrival of the New Year at the capital’s main observation deck, Vorobyovy Gory. According to an old Moscow legend, people come to Vorobyovy Gory to start a new life, leaving the past behind with the hope of finding love, happiness, and prosperity. Join us to welcome the New Year in the traditional way with champagne, tangerines, and sparklers!
