A new building of Museum of History will open in SamarkandOn September 1, for the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, official celebration of the new building of the State Museum of Culture History of Uzbekistan will be held in Samarkand, the director of the museum Makhmud Boboyorov, has reported to Uzbek press.

State Museum of Cultural History of Uzbekistan in Samarkand was founded in the 19th century and is one of the oldest museums in Uzbekistan. Its funds store thousands of unique artifacts, its cultural and historical value stirring the envy of the bigger museums in the capital. There is a huge storage of jewelry of bronze age, Zoroastrian ossuaries and items of worship, chess of 8th century, thousands of original canvases of prominent Uzbek painters of the beginning of the 20th century as well as tragically known film of M. Kayumov ‘Revelation of Amir Timur’s tomb’ made on the eve of the World War II in 1941.

Since 1978 exposition of the museum was displayed on the Registan square. In 2010 it moved to the Ulugbek street that was occupied with construction works for all this time. In a month time, the museum will be festively opened for a larger audience.
