Following the winding path of the Georgian Military Highway, we'll delve into the rugged wilderness, where a moderately challenging but invigorating hike awaits. We'll traverse past relics of history and natural wonders, ending at the mesmerizing Abano Lake. This day-long adventure, imbued with the grandeur of the Georgian landscapes, concludes with a serene drive back to Tbilisi.
Tour itinerary:
Tbilisi – Truso Valley – Tbilisi
At 8:00, start your journey to Truso Valley from your hotel in Tbilisi. The route will take over the Georgian Military Highway up North towards the border with Russia. After three hours of driving along the picturesque road, arrive at the spectacular Truso Valley. Discover this 21-km out-and-back mostly flat trail near Kvemo Okrokana. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes on average 5-6 hours to complete. During the hike, you will see picturesque mountain views all around, and explore the ruins of Zakagori Fortress and abandoned settlements. And this isn’t all, mineral springs, peculiar travertine formations, and mineral lake Abano with clear blue sparkling water will surprise you on the way. After the hike, return to the car and drive back to Tbilisi. Drop off at your hotel.
