
Hiking Tour to Lagodekhi Waterfalls offers you a sliver of paradise in Georgia’s Kakheti Region. Lagodekhi National Park was established in 1912 as the first nature reserve in the country of Georgia. Today the park is a forest-filled swath of land which covers more than 24 thousand hectares and is home to rare flora and fauna, including 26 plants and more than 40 animals listed as endangered species.
Tour itinerary:
At 8 am, our driver and guide will pick you up from your Tbilisi hotel to begin Hiking Tour to Lagodekhi Waterfalls. Drive (160km, 2hrs, 45 min) through the picturesque green hills and vineyards of Kakheti Region to Lagodekhi, a lovely Georgian town located at the gates of a national park of the same name.
Lagodekhi National Park is fantastic for hiking, and upon arrival we will set out on a well-marked trail which winds through a thick forest and along a rapid stream before ending at the 6-meter-high Black Grouse Waterfall. With a round-trip length of 9 kilometers, the hike usually takes 3-5 hours to complete. After reaching the waterfall, relax with a picnic lunch before taking a dip in the pool of the waterfall.
After the hike, we will head to a cozy family guesthouse to enjoy a lazy evening before experiencing traditional Georgian hospitality over a delectable dinner. Overnight at the guesthouse in Lagodekhi.

After breakfast, we will depart for the village of Khizabavra to begin a 10-kilometer round-trip hike to the 40-meter-high Ninoskhevi Waterfall. Depending on trail conditions, the hike usually takes 4-6 hours to complete. Be prepared to get wet – you will have to cross a river several times – although the hike is not dangerous or very challenging.
Upon completion of the hike, we will be treated to a traditional Kakhetian dinner and local wine in a Georgian home. After dinner, we’ll return to Tbilisi for drop-off at your hotel or residence. End of Lagodekhi Waterfalls Tour.
