Uzbekistan is developing tourism infrastructure

Uzbekistan tourismThe government of Uzbekistan has approved a programme on targeted measures to develop tourism infrastructure in the country until 2021. According to the document, all hotels of Uzbekistan regions will introduce online hotel booking services through Internet.

Particularly, three Andijan hotels: Afrosiab, Elita and Vella Elegant were reconstructed in October-November 2011. It is planned to reconstruct the handicraft’s street in Andijan and to build camp sites and minimarkets at the direction of Andijan-Hojaabad during 2012.

Also it is planned to complete the construction of a modern restaurant for 400 seats and a disco club for 170 seats in March 2012. A specialized center of art and workshop of souvenirs and handicrafts is planned to construct in September and a multifunctional business-center “Hamkor Business Markazi” in October.

By the end of 2013 it is planned to complete the reconstruction of the historical and architectural complex "Jome", Museum of Andijan region history, historical and architectural complex of Ponsod Mosque and the house of Zahiriddin Babur.

In Karakalpakstan it is planned to establish ecotourism infrastructure in the Akcha Kul area of Ellikala district, tourism complex and ethnographic park in the Ustyurt area of Kungrad district, as well as to develop new routes, including visits to a popular tourism sight: the former Aral Sea port city of Muynak.

Today Karakalpakstan has 6 hotels, two of them: Nukus Hotel and Tashkent Hotel will be reconstructed in 2012 and two more will be built during the same period.

In Bukhara it is planned to construct a hotel near the Bahauddin Naqshbandi complex with rooms and apartments up to 40 seats, three three-star hotels with 160 seats and to reconstruct the Zarafshan hotel and Varakhsha Hotel.

In Bukhara region it is planned to build the recreation center for travelers with fishing facilities around the Devhona Lake in Karaulbazar, to develop the “Camel Safari” program, an exciting journey on camel backs. It is planned to create comfortable conditions for tourists on the territory of the Jeyran Eco Center, where tourists will have an opportunity to watch rare species of animals.
