Starting August 2011, State Museum of History of Uzbekistan has launched a special branch for young visitors - Children’s Museum “Wonder world”.

Now, children and teenagers are exempted from boring museum lectures, and can really feel the researchers taking part in archaeological mini excavations, deciphering ancient manuscripts with the help of a sample of ancient alphabet, making clay whistles and pots on the real potter's wheel etc.

Children's Museum is divided into several thematic sections: "The young archaeologist," "Young potter," "History of Literature" and "Gifts of Uzbekistan", in each section experienced museum guides introduces young audience into the life and culture of the Uzbek people in different historical era in a very interesting way.

Section "Young Archaeologist" gives children the opportunity to feel the real archaeologists and learn to "read" information stored in museum exhibits: to find a coin of a particular period, to determine the name of the ruler on it, try to mint a coin, to see the most ancient tools and prehistoric cave person.

Pottery found during excavations on the territory of Uzbekistan occupies an important place in the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan. "Young Potter" exhibition visitors will not only learn the history of pottery in different periods of history of Uzbekistan, but also dazzle toys, whistles and pots on the potter's wheel under the guidance of masters.

In the Children's Museum "History of Literature" section young visitors learn about the types of ancient writing and try to decipher the contents of their own ancient manuscripts with samples of ancient alphabets.

Visiting the "Gifts of Uzbekistan" museum section is not less fascinating, since young participants will learn how crops are grown in Uzbekistan and what is produced of them.

Children's Museum is a creative initiative of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, which aims to attract the younger generation to the museum and turn the visit of young audience into a fun and interesting journey.
