If there are two things that every visitor must experience in Georgia, it’s wine and cathedrals. This one day Kartli Wine Tour from Tbilisi takes you to both, starting with Jvari, an important church overlooking the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers, and then stopping at the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, dating from the 11th century. Tour itinerary:

Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Chateau Mukhrani – Kaspi – Tbilisi
In the morning meet your guide and driver to start wine tour in Kartli region of Georgia. Depart Tbilisi and drive towards Mtskheta, one of the oldest towns, the cultural and religious center of Georgia. Today, it is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a living museum, with many architectural and historical monuments. Visit Jvari (temple of the “Holy Cross"), built in the 6th century. Stand on a high hill overlooking the confluence of two majestic rivers Aragvi and Mtkvari. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century). Next stop at Chateau Mukhrani winery in Mukhrani region. The castle with its unique wine yards was an estate of royal family of Georgia. History of winemaking there relates to royal family member Ivane Mukhranbatoni who brought Chateau concepts of in Georgia. Have a tour, wine tasting.
Continue towards Kaspi. Visit Merebashvili’s Marani Wine Cellar. Find out more about the pure Kartlian technologies of wine making and enjoy the hospitality of traditional Georgian family. Wine tour, wine tasting and lunch. Drive back to Tbilisi for overnight.
