Bishkek is the capital of Kyrgyzstan, its largest city, and the country's cultural and economic hub. While it lacks medieval architecture – having been founded only in 1825 as a fortress – it offers a different kind of charm. Nestled at the foot of the Tien Shan Mountains, Bishkek is a green, spacious city ideal for strolling through parks and leafy boulevards.
The city features a remarkable number of sculptures and monuments, as well as striking examples of Soviet-era architecture, including buildings in the Stalinist Empire and Soviet modernist styles.
Our one-day tour of Bishkek is the perfect introduction to Kyrgyzstan. Explore the full itinerary and enjoy a relaxing, scenic day in this uniquely vibrant capital.
