Nohur is a small village surrounded by mountains and located only in 4 hrs drive from Ashgabat. According to legends, this was the place where Noah’s Ark moored and all animals were let out and various seeds were planted. Indeed, the nature of Nohur differs from the surrounding places. Besides, road to Nohur from the capital of Turkmenistan lies through interesting sightseeings: Kou-Ata cave, Gokdepe mosque and others.
Tour itinerary:
Your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel lobby in Ashgabat. In the morning transfer to Nohur mountain village in Kopet Dag Mountains. Visit Turkmenbashi Mosque-Mausoleum, Gokdepe Mosque and Kow-Ata underground lake on the way. Continue to tribal cemetery and silk weaving home workshop. In the afternoon drive back to Ashgabat. En route stop at “Bedev” hippodrome stables to see Akhalteke horses – pride of Turkmen nation. Transfer to the hotel. End of the tour.
