Baku Old Town – Absheron Peninsula
You will be met by your guide and driver at your hotel in Baku to begin city tour in Icheri Sheher – the old part of the Azerbaijan capital. Visit Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, and market square with numerous art studios and souvenir stalls. Continue to Martyrs’ Lane, called ‘Shehidler Khiyabany’ among locals. When you walk through Martyrs’ Lane, you will find a beautiful view overlooking Baku’s coastline.
Drive out of the city to Absheron Peninsula. The first stop is at Yanardag Mountain, also known as Burning Hill, where natural gas has been ablaze for hundreds of years. Continue to Ateshgah, Fire Temple located in the village of Surakhany. Zoroastrians from India traveled thousands of kilometers to Ateshgah to worship the fire coming out of the earth. Return to Baku. The excursion to Absheron Peninsula and Old Baku will be rounded up with a drop-off at the hotel/your place. End of Tour to Absheron Peninsula and Old Baku.
