Conquering peaks is a metaphor for success, whether in business, personal growth, or even literally climbing a mountain. Tackling a real mountain allows you to see the tangible results of your efforts. Successful individuals know that you don’t start with Everest - you begin with smaller challenges. Our one-day tour to climb Small Chimgan offers just that: a chance to experience the rigors of a climb and the beauty of a bird’s-eye view from the summit. This hiking tour is accessible to anyone in good physical condition and doesn’t require any special preparation. Departing from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, in the morning, you'll find yourself admiring Charvak Reservoir from great heights by midday and spotting countless other peaks waiting to be conquered. By evening, you’ll return to the city, energized and ready for your next adventure.

Tour Itinerary

9:00 - 11:00: Meet your driver and mountain guide at the hotel and depart from the bustling capital towards the Chimgan Mountains. After an hour on the highway, you'll transition onto a winding mountain road, quickly climbing to 1,550 meters above sea level.

11:00 - 12:00: Upon arrival at the base of Small Chimgan Mountain, your guide will provide a safety briefing. After confirming you have all the necessary gear, the ascent begins. The initial part of the trek is a gentle climb through a wide meadow before the path turns left, leading into a more challenging climb through dense thickets. Though strenuous, in about 30 minutes, you'll reach Pesochny Pass (1,832 meters), the saddle connecting Small and Greater Chimgan. The path to the pass is 1.5 km with an elevation gain of 240 meters.

12:00 - 13:00: After a brief rest at the pass, you'll tackle the rocky slope of Small Chimgan. This section will require the most effort – with a distance of only 700 meters, the elevation gain is 220 meters! There is no shade from the sun, and you may feel increasingly thirsty – stay hydrated by taking small, frequent sips. Soon enough, you'll reach the ridge, and the final 800 meters to the peak at 2,099 meters will be a much easier walk. Your reward is a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.

13:00 - 14:00: Enjoy lunch at the summit and take photos with the stunning backdrop of Lake Charvak and Greater Chimgan Mountain.

14:00 - 16:00: Descend at a comfortable, steady pace to minimize the load on your knees. The trail is steep in some places, so pay close attention to every step. Using trekking poles will significantly ease the task and protect your joints.

16:00 - 18:00: Return to the car for your transfer back to Tashkent, concluding your climb of Small Chimgan.

Small Chimgan Summit Reviews

We had asked Munir to arrange a one-day trek for us, and he went out of his way to ensure that it was the right degree of challenge, and that all aspects of the day were thought through, again with a terrific guide, Dimitri.
