Feel the charm of the East in an eventful Eight-Day Cultural Uz-2 tour by train, where you will have detailed excursions to historical places of Tashkent, Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara. You will enjoy unique monuments of the IX-XIX centuries and learn the rich culture and traditions of the Uzbek people. The main tour program includes a visit of the well-known Registan Square, the Bibi-Khanum Mosque of Tamerlane’s beloved wife in Samarkand; the Mausoleum of the Bukhara rulers from the medieval Samanid dynasty, Kalyan Minaret - the highest one in Old Bukhara, grandiose Ark Fortress-Citadel in Bukhara; and Ichan-Kala, a town of oriental fairy tale in Khiva.
Tour Summary:
Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent
Arrival in Tashkent, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon sightseeing tour in Tashkent.
Day 2: Tashkent - Samarkand, (356km, 3.5hrs)
At 07:15 transfer to the railway station to get the fast going train “Afrosiyob”, departing to Samarkand at 08:00. Arrival in Samarkand at 10:10. Check in to the hotel. Full day sightseeing tour in Samarkand.
Day 3: Samarkand
Continue sightseeing tour in Samarkand.
Day 4: Samarkand - Bukhara (249 km, 2,45 hrs)
At 11:10 transfer to the railway station to get the fast going train “Sharq”, departing to Bukhara at 12:15. Arrival in Bukhara at 15:19. Sightseeing tour in Bukhara.
Day 5: Bukhara
Continue sightseeing tour in Bukhara.
Day 6: Bukhara - Khiva (480 km, 9 hrs)
In the morning transfer to Khiva. The Great Silk Road routed through Bukhara and Khiva once ran through the Kyzylkum Desert, as the modern highway does now. Almost 300 km of the road goes through the desert. You can make a short stop in the middle of the desert and at the bank of Amudarya river, called by the Greeks as Oxus. Afternoon arrival in Khiva, check in to the hotel. Free time. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Khiva - Tashkent flight by Uzbekistan Airways (1hr 20 min)
In the morning guided sightseeing tour in Khiva, In the evening transfer to the Urgench airport, departure to Tashkent. Arrival in Tashkent, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 8: Tashkent - end of tour
Transfer to the airport, departure.
