This hands-on experience is one of our Tashkent tours designed for travellers interested in Uzbekistan’s traditional crafts and cultural heritage. Begin with a suzani embroidery masterclass at the Kasimbaeva Gallery, where you will learn about this distinctive textile tradition and create a small piece of your own. You can then choose between a cooking class with lunch in a local family home and a pottery masterclass at the Rakhimov Ceramic Studio. The day concludes with a visit to the Islamic Civilization Center, which presents the history and intellectual heritage of the Islamic world through its extensive collections and exhibitions.
Tour itinerary:
Your driver will meet you at your hotel in Tashkent and transfer you to Suzani embroidery masterclass at Kasimbaeva Gallery, where you will have the opportunity to participate and create your own suzani piece (1-1,5hrs).
Continue the day with optional workshops:
- A cooking class and lunch in a local family home, where you will learn to prepare traditional dishes and experience local culture and hospitality (2-3hrs).
- A pottery masterclass at the Rakhimov's Ceramic Studio, a workshop where centuries of Uzbek ceramic heritage come to life. You will learn traditional clay techniques and create a handmade souvenir to take home (2-2.5hrs).
After lunch transfer to the Islamic Civilization Center (1.5-2hrs) in Tashkent, a world-class cultural institution comparable in scale and significance to the Louvre in Paris. After the visit, meet the driver and transfer to the hotel. End of Tashkent Crafts and Cultural Heritage Tour.
