Estates of Moscow
Around Moscow there are many old mansions and estates, formerly belonging to famous families. This is explained by the fact that Moscow has been the capital of Russia for many years. In this regard, princes, emperors, dukes as well as intellectuals settled in Moscow and its suburbs.
In pursuit of honor and splendor the following mansions and estates were founded: Kuskovo, Ostankino, Kuntsevo. These famous Moscow estates can be compared princely and royal dwellings such as: Tsaritsyno built for Catherine II, Kolomenskoye. Many of the estates and houses have retained their original appearance, being good examples of baroque, rococo, and classicism.
