This 3-day Tour to Fergana Valley introduces the craft and cultural traditions of eastern Uzbekistan at a measured, unhurried pace. The route takes you through the region’s main towns, each with its own history, atmosphere, and long-established artisan practices.
The first day is devoted to Kokand, once the capital of a powerful khanate, and to the town of Rishtan, renowned for its vivid Uzbek ceramics. On the second day, you will travel to Margilan, the country’s principal centre of silk production, where it is possible to observe the full process — from silkworm cocoon to finished fabric, including the creation of distinctive ikat patterns. The third day focuses on the history and everyday life of Fergana city, before the return to Tashkent in the afternoon.
This journey will appeal to travellers drawn to traditional craftsmanship and the quiet beauty of handmade objects. It offers time to look closely at Uzbek ceramics and silk without rushing, while the region’s historic monuments add a rewarding cultural layer to the experience. Below you will find the detailed itinerary for our 3-day Fergana Valley Tour, which can also make an excellent addition to a classic Uzbekistan journey through Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
