Milorauli Marani, Telavi

Milorauli Marani, Telavi

Located around 15 minutes walk from the centre of Telavi, Milorauli Marani is a small organic wine cellar with an adjoining guesthouse. Established in 2015, it is run by siblings of a sommelier and winemaker and works on a deliberately limited scale, welcoming visitors interested in understanding local winemaking rather than touring a commercial facility.

History of Milorauli Marani

Milorauli Marani was founded in 2015, building on a family background in winemaking rather than on a revived historical estate. Like many households in Kakheti, earlier generations made wine for domestic use from 1930, but the current cellar marks the family’s first step into structured, organic wine production and hosting visitors.

Vineyards and wine

The family owns around 10 hectares of EU Organic–certified vineyards in the Akhmeta municipality, within the Kakhuri Mtsvane microzone. Plantings include Georgian varieties such as Kakhuri Mtsvane, Kisi, Khikhvi, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi and Aleksandrouli, alongside international grapes including Montepulciano, Syrah and Tempranillo. Production remains small, at around 7,000 bottles per year.

Visits and accommodation

Milorauli Marani receives visitors for wine tours and tastings, with the option to stay overnight in the on-site guesthouse. Meals can be arranged in advance, allowing guests to combine a cellar visit with a relaxed lunch or dinner close to Telavi.
