At 11:00 start a guided sightseeing tour in the capital of Uzbekistan, the largest city in Central Asia. You will start by exploring the Old City. Visit Khast-Imam Complex, where the world-famous Quran, the holy book that belonged to Caliph Uthman, has been preserved. The complex consists of Barak-Khan Madrasah, Tillya Sheykh Mosque, Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Continue to Chorsu Bazaar. Ride the Tashkent Metro to the city center and stroll around Amir Timur Square and Independence Square before visiting the Applied Arts Museum.
Transfer to the domestic airport for an evening flight to Urgench departing at 19:00 (1093km, 2hrs,20min). Arrive in Urgench at 21:20 and transfer to the hotel in Khiva (30km, 35min).

Climb the Islom Khodja Minaret, the highest minaret in Uzbekistan. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Old Khiva in Kunya-Ark. Free time in the afternoon.

Today Gijduvan is home to sixth- generation potters from the Narzullayevs family, who brought the Gijduvan ceramics school to worldwide fame.

We had a wonderful time in Usbekistan. Very very friendly people we have met everywhere. Beautiful buildings, rich in history, fantastic guides, interesting culture... It was the perfect journey.
At first, 1hour drive to a pottery (in Bukhara) where they show you approx 15 Min how their workshop works is a bit strange, but the atmosphere was so lovely and the mosque we visited later made up for the drive. So nothing to report there.
Guides and drivers have been so friendly and enjoyable and the two British people in our group did just match perfectly. We had a great time, or at least I had :-)

The tour was very well organized. There was always the Advantour representative at every stop. Both drivers and guides were extremely knowledgeable and approachable. The cities we visited were amazing. The people we met were very friendly and the food great. We will use Advantour again if we need a guided tour in Central Asia.
