Arrive in Tashkent. You will be met by your driver and guide to start sightseeing in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan and, biggest city in Central Asia. The tour begins with a visit to the Old City secton of Tashkent including the Khast-Imom Complex where the world-famous Quran of Caliph Uthman has been preserved. In Khast-Imom, you will also visit the Madrasah of Barak-Khan, Tilla Sheikh Mosque, the Mausoleum of the Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi, and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. You will have some time to explore the expansive Chor-Su Bazaar before. Then take a ride on Tashkent Metro to the city center to visit Applied Arts Museum and walk through Navoi Theater to Amir Timur Square where you will end Tashkent city tour. Continue sightseeing tour with your guide. First on the agenda is a drive from the city to Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa – the summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir – and visit the Mausoleum of Bakhoutdin Naqshbandi. In the afternoon, the group will depart to Samarkand (280 km 4 h) stopping at Caravanserai Rabat Malik on the way to see the ruins which date back to 11th century. Meet your guide and driver in the hotel lobby and start sightseeing. You will visit the spectacular Registan Square, the ruins of Bibi Khanum Mosque, and Siab Bazaar. After breakfast, you will meet your guide to start a sightseeing tour in Tbilisi. The day starts at Holy Trinity Cathedral, one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world. The Metekhi church is next on the docket, followed by and the monument to Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. After that, you will take a cable car to Narikala Fortress to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the city and walk down to the district of Sulfur bath houses while passing by the only mosque in Tbilisi. Strolling through the Sharden district, you will find narrow streets with cozy cafés, wine-tasting bars, souvenir shops, and breathe in the living past. The tour then moves to Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and the clock tower of famous Rezo Gabriadze Theatre before crossing the Bridge of Peace to Rike Park and heading to the Open-Air Museum of Ethnography. After breakfast, there is quick drive to Mtskheta, one of the oldest towns and the cultural and religious center of Georgia. Mtskheta was the capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd century BC. From the Jvari Church, a true architectural masterpiece of the early Medieval Period built on a hilltop, you will enjoy the views of the confluence of Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers. After visiting Svetitskhoveli, the main cathedral of Mtskheta and a sacred place where the robe of Christ is kept, you will continue to the Ananuri architectural complex – a former residence of Argveti Dukes. The complex features churches and towers dating back to the 16-17th centuries, which overlook the beautiful Jinvali Reservoir. The next destination is Kazbegi, a small town with postcard views of Mount Kazbek (or Mkinvari, 5033 m), The final stop of the day is the Gergeti Holy Trinity Church which sits at an altitude of 2170 m. In the morning, you will depart Kazbegi and drive to the city of Gori to explore the Stalin Museum which features the original small house where he was born and his personal armored train car. The tour continues at the cave town of Uplistsikhe, which dates back to the Hellenistic period and is notable for the unique combination of various styles of cave cultures and the co-existence of pagan and Christian architecture. Arrive in Tbilisi. Overnight at the hotel.
