Advantour was definitely the best tour operator I have ever used (G Adventures, Gate1 Travel, On the Go Tours). You guys have a dedicated, customer-first approach that I felt every single day on my tour that I have never experienced before. It was incredible getting to visit parts of the world that are not as touristy and feeling so welcomed by the locals and the Advantour team! I 100% want to travel with you again (I have my eye on the 17-day Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan and 15-day China tours), should time and money allow. The itinerary matched my expectations perfectly, with very knowledgeable guides who understood what the group was interested in and pivoted expertly (Armenia’s Ms. Gayane excelled at this, stopped at a town famous for its storks when we got excited seeing them earlier in the day, suggesting a stop at the Armenian market when none of us wanted a lavash lunch after seeing how excited we were to try foods, etc.). I feel like we had a lot of downtime for our own explorations, while hitting all of the country’s highlights with the guide-led tours.
I loved the hotels. They were all so well located and of very nice quality. I will say that I had that wonderful customized stay at the caravanserai in Sheki and everyone – and I mean EVERYONE – in my group was jealous and wanted to stay there too, only it was too late. Maybe that could be an option you offer? Like, it’s such a unique opportunity and most people don’t know it is available. My favorite stay was the Gudauri Lodge, and I wish we had more time there (although not sure how that could ever fit in the itinerary….it was just very nice!). I loved the Rooms Hotel too…it was so much fun to stay at a hotel that felt like pure Tbilisi, that had no equal anywhere. After so many typical hotels, it was such a fun shock to stay at a hotel with so much character! Rooms will be a hotel I remember forever.
Transportation was seamless and perfect, zero issues anywhere.
Guides Elnara and Gayane were hands down the best guides I’ve ever had, anywhere. They were passionate about their countries, knowledgeable in history and recent/current events, cared for us like welcomed friends, and truly made the trip special. Like I said before, Gayane especially provided us with unique, off-itinerary experiences that we all enjoyed. She also let me leave the group to get to a museum in Yerevan that was closed during our free time, so I really appreciate her knowledge and care.

I had a great time and met some wonderful people. It was really well put together and planned. I would highly recommend this trip.

Having traveled extensively over the years, I can honestly say that it is rare to find an agency with such a strong focus on details and genuine care for its clients. This was evident throughout the entire journey.
As for the guides, I thought the guide in Azerbaijan was outstanding: attentive, charismatic, and able to connect with the whole group. The guide in Georgia was also excellent, with impressive knowledge and a genuine passion for sharing her country. The guide in Armenia was pleasant and enjoyable to be around, and I share this feedback with complete sincerity and only because I believe it may be helpful. Compared to the other two guides, I felt she was a little less engaging and less enthusiastic when presenting information and interacting with the group. Armenia was actually one of the biggest surprises of the trip for me, and I had a wonderful time there, but this was the one area that felt slightly below the very high standard set elsewhere.
I also really enjoyed most of the restaurant selections. There were only a couple that felt a bit too tourist-oriented for my personal taste, but that is likely more about my own travel preferences than an issue with the itinerary itself. What impressed me even more was how well your team seemed to understand the interests of the group. Recommendations such as the traditional Armenian folk music performance in Tbilisi, as well as the optional excursion during our free day at the Georgian winery, which included one of the most beautiful and memorable restaurants of the entire trip, were absolutely spot on.
I think this reflects something quite special about your company. This is not a typical tourist itinerary, and it naturally attracts travelers who are already very experienced and often looking for deeper, more authentic experiences. In our group alone, my impression was that most people had visited around 80 countries or more. Despite such diverse expectations, you managed to make everyone genuinely happy, which is no small achievement.

I will recommend friends to book with Advantour if they are choosing a tour in the Caucasus.

The hotels were in an excellent location and the breakfast buffets were plentiful and delicious. The itinerary was a good pace for active people in good condition. There were lots of benches and shopping options if on occasion the steps were too steep and the terrain too rocky. The snow covered mountains were so beautiful this spring with very safe and steady drivers. A special thank you to Yuriy our director. He kept us apprised of news developments in the area. There was not a moment of concern the entire trip.

My daughters and I did the 16 day Caucasus tour to visit Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. What a wonderful experience! We had a great combination of seeing key sites including the three capitals, enjoying the food of each country and getting to know the history that intertwines these three countries as part of the former Soviet Union.
What is great is that the tour guides give you the history as well as sharing their personal experiences. The food was exceptional as we had local experiences in each of the countries - if you like wine and good food, you won't be disappointed.
This is the second tour I have done with Advantour. They are well organized and professional and we had a great experience again on this tour. Compliments to the team in Tbilisi and our thanks for making this a memorable trip!

The 15 day Caucasus tour exceded my expectations. The accomdations and transportation were great. The itinerary covered highlights in a well organized manner. Most important the level of service of the guides, Jimal,-Azerbaijan Salome - Georgia, and Rima - Armenia was superb. Each provided a high level of personal attention and insights about their respective countries that added to acquring a deeper understanding about each of the countries.

My Caucasus Tour with Advantour was the last two week leg of the 29 day Silk Road Tour that included the "Stans.” It was a trip of a lifetime as it introduced me to a part of the world that Americans know little to nothing about, let alone able to pronounce or even spell the names.

Because Advantour is locally based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and Tbilisi, Georgia they are hands-on ever present to navigate the unexpected surprises of travel as well as guiding us through their amazing itinerary. And Advantour is always on the look out for new additions to feature on the trip.

But this is a Caucasus review. First, our guides, Anna, Jamil and Tatavik were exceptional in their enthusiasm, knowledge and simple compassionate caring. I appreciated the pacing of free time with a rigorous schedule. This allowed me to enjoy a spa day in the wine country of northern Georgia, the sulphur baths in Tbilisi, time to wander the Caspian Sea promenade and the Inner City in Baku, as well as to explore the avenues and markets in Yerevan.

The itinerary was also a great balance between the expected historical sights and the wondrous natural phenomena of rock caves and mud volcanoes of Azerbaijan to the fresh and green High Caucasus Mountains of Georgia to the splendor of Lake Sevan and Symphony of Stones in Armenia. This is a really important balance.

I highly recommend Advantour because it is not just an American or European based tour company hiring local guides. No! Everyone on the staff from the directors, Sevara and Yuriy, to the local guides in each country are local, local and local. From handling Visas to navigating border transfers I could not have asked to be in better hands. And last, but not least, being locally administered, the tour was more affordable. We stayed at excellent accommodations usually in the city center or Old Town, exactly where all the points of interest are.

I recently completed a short tour of Armenia with Advantour and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The sights that we visited were excellent, and our tour leader, Anna, was charming and highly competent. Our local Armenian guide, Lillet, was extremely knowledgeable, and shared so much interesting information about the history of the places we visited, as well as explaining current geopolitical tensions in the region. The hotel accommodation was also first rate. I was extremely impressed with this company and would use them again. Before joining Advantour, I had travelled through Azerbaijan and Georgia with another company, and I found my trip with Advantour far superior.

Yuriy of Advantour organized a superb 10 day trip for us through Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. We were amazed at the ancient civilizations of the old silk roads, and the history and cultures of the area. Having travelled previously with Advantour to Georgia and Armenia, we had very high expectations and we’re not disappointed.
The tour guides in all the places we visited were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, often working long hours and going out of their to show us what we might get want to see, good with their food and recommendations and fun to be with.
We would certainly use them again for more travel in the beautiful, less known regions of the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

I had an excellent time in Azerbaijan and Georgia thanks to Yuriy and his team at Advantour. Everything was very well organized and personalized. My guide in Azerabaijan Jamil was very well prepared and knowledgeable and my guide in Georgia (Ana) was adorable and also extremely knowledgeable. The hotels were great, and the itinerary was impressive. Everything was very well planned, the food, the drivers and the people were amazing! This trip left a wonderful impression on me and I'd love to return to discover other parts of the region with the same team. Not long returned from my second trip with Advantour & once again I was not disappointed. Advantour is a well run, professional travel agency. Advantour with Yuriy.

It was our second with Advantour the first being​ Uzbekistan May 2016.

First of all on behalf of the group our thanks to Yuriy for having organised a superb travel of the 3 Caucausian countries Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia for a group of 16 pax for 15 days. It was Yuriy`s quick reply to my first mail that made me confirm the destination and then the agency, 15 months before our trip started

Wasn`t sure what to expect as not many people have been to these countries undiscovered by tourists.
It was much more than i expected... grandiose places, full of history culture, different food. etc. One has to visit these countries now before they are exploited by mass tourism.
I have exchanged uncountable mails with Yuriy about hotels, sites, prices, etc, etc. But there was a prompt reply to all the queries, you are amazing Yuriy.
I had no apprehension at all...and right enough from the airport PICK-UP to all land travel may be over 2000 kms to airport DROP we had no problem at all with transportation not even a tyre puncture...the buses and drivers were very good and drove us diligently over the Caucausian mountain gorges and plains.
The hotels were good too, and as requested for central locations all were superbly located and better than reviews, specially the Shah Palace Hotel in Baku, and Aviatran in Yerevan and Mirhav in Goris were excellent.
The guides too were extremely knowledgeable, well versed in their matter with good diction and experienced in their profession and answered all our questions. Patient as well to handle a group of 16, Seymur of Baku, Anna of Georgia and Nune of Yerevan were just top of the line.

The sites included were also well chosen by Advantour, bear in mind that visiting these countries involves a lot of bus travel as one has to move out of the city.
The dinners organised in Tblisi and Yerevan were of high standard with an insight to the folk and food culture of the country, do include one in Baku as well...it completes the cultural experience.

The exit and entry at borders is very time consuming...either the staff is not well informed about the regulations or they simply want to harass travelers....we took over 2 hours crossing from Azerbaijan border to getting to the Georgian side.
Advantour please make a note of the time constraint here and this delays the sighting seeing and thus missed a bit due to arriving at dusk.
Thanks for your effort to get our Armenia Visas

We have just arrived back in Australia after a wonderful Advantour group tour of the Caucasus which began in Azerbaijan, went on to Georgia and finished in Armenia. We had communicated with the Director of Advantour in Tbilisi, Yuriy Klyuev, for almost twelve months prior to the tour and his prompt responses to our multiple enquiries as well as his arranging of visas for Azerbaijan were impressive and efficient. This was during the pre-planning of the tour and we were also fortunate to have Yuriy as a tour member during the Azerbaijan leg of the trip. He always had a smile and a pleasant remark for his clients and became a valued friend by the end of the tour.
Our group leader was Anna Uturgauri, a Georgian native, whose encyclopaedic knowledge of the Caucasus, wonderful facility with languages (she spoke excellent idiomatic English, German, some French and Spanish, Georgian and Armenian), empathy, organisational ability and friendship were the glue which held together a well-chosen itinerary through fascinating historically ancient and significant and beautiful areas of which there are plenty in the Caucasus. The comfort and convenience of the tour group were her primary motivations and the evident love she had of the area she was born in shone through. She too became a friend by tour’s end.
The buses used for the trip were spacious, clean and comfortable for our group of 14-15. The drivers and local guides were well chosen and efficient.
We are great fans of mountains and in each and every corner of the Caucasus we came across high, splendid and inspiring peaks with amazing vistas which satisfied our other passion, that of photography. Some of the mountain scenery in northern Georgia and in southern Armenia rivalled, if not bettered, anything else we have seen in our fairly wide-ranging travels.
The hotels were of excellent class, had spacious rooms and were well situated in the towns and cities we visited.
The cost of living in the Caucasus is quite low comparative to Australia, so meals and goods were well priced. We found the local people to be friendly and the urban environments to be safe for walking at all times, even at night.
The politics and inter-country relationships within the Caucasus are rather fraught and we hope that with time this situation will improve. However these did not impinge in any way on the conduct of the tour with border crossings being relatively trouble free.

This is an excellent trip with an itinerary that provides a sound introduction to, and good overview of ,three fascinating countries, none of which are particularly well known in the wider world. The setting is the mountainous and spectacular Caucasus region with a rich and at times sad and dark history. Three distinct countries, each with their own culture, language and alphabet but the people encountered throughout were friendly, welcoming and pleased to see visitors.
Every aspect of this trip operated by Advantour was well organised and ran smoothly, from the range and quality of hotels, transport and attention to safety, locations and experiences to the quality of the staff and other partners.
Special mention must be made of Anna Uturgauri who led this group and is up there with the best Tour leaders/guides I have ever met.
A great area to visit with much to offer, especially as it is not a mainstream destination. Go before the tourists do!

I recently returned from an outstanding tour of the Caucasus, arranged through Advantour. From my first email contact with Yuriy, a year prior to the trip, to my departure, this trip was well organized. The tour guides were excellent and knowledgeable and demonstrated excellent English, the hotels were very good, the learning was excellent. The tour included a good variety of sites and activities. The included meals gave us an excellent taste for local cuisine. I would highly recommend Advantour as a tour company if you wish to visit the Caucasus.

We just returned from an Advantour tour of the Caucasus. Our tour leader, Anna, was outstanding in every respect. The local tour leaders in Azerbaijan, and Armenia were also good. The three countries all provide for wonderful scenery, beautiful old architecture, and some new modern architecture. Georgia is especially scenic with the snow capped mountains and some picturesque churches/monasteries. All hotels and the transportation provided were first class. Yuriy provided excellent help pre-trip with all our questions and concerns. I highly recommend Advantour if you are considering traveling to the Caucasus countries.
